FAQ's
Can you treat my particular condition?
- Almost anything that you would visit a medical doctor for, can
also be addressed by a naturopathic doctor. Often our patients
will come to us first for a particular problem, saving drugs and
surgery as a last resort or conversely when drugs and surgery have
failed to relieve their problem.
Are you covered by my insurance?
- If you have extended health coverage through your work, you
probably have coverage for naturopathic visits. Prescribed
supplements are usually not covered by insurance.
Can I still see my regular doctor?
- Absolutely! In fact, I encourage you to maintain a good
relationship with all of your other healthcare practitioners.
My treatments can be modified to work in conjunction with any other
medications that you may be on.
Do you prescribe a lot of supplements?
- My experience has taught me that most people are capable of
taking 2 or maybe 3 things at a time. Any more than that and
they either get overwhelmed or they can't afford the cost. My
goal is always to get people to a point within about 6 months where
all they really need to take is a multivitamin and essential
fatty acids as a maintenance program.
Can my receipt be altered to show that my supplements were
actually visit costs so that I can claim it from my insurance?
- Absolutely not! Aside from being unethical (and do you
really want to be treated by an unethical doctor?), that constitutes
insurance fraud.
Does acupuncture hurt?
- Not really. If you've ever had your legs waxed,
acupuncture is nothing in comparison.
